It is amazing to think that another year has passed and graduation is upon us once again. Jennifer Davenport and Jordan Purvis will graduate June 7 from South Florence High School. Jennifer will be attending Clemson University in the fall. Austin Altman has graduated from Clemson and will be teaching at Dewey L. Carter in the fall.
In Ecclesiastes 12:1, Solomon urges us to remember our Creator in the days of our youth. Now is a wonderful time to remember our Creator as we mark this milestone in these young ladies lives.
Our youth are getting ready for their summer mission trip. The Hire A Youth program is going well. If you need help around the yard or home, please contact the church office to arrange a time.
Vacation Bible School is coming up in July. The theme this year is Son Harvest County Fair. If you wish to help or contribute to this important ministry of our church, please contact the church office or Melissa Hooks at 773-9620. Wal-Mart and Sam gift cards are wonderful contributions to the ministry. VBS is a vital staple of the church. Convention-wide, churches report most of their baptisms and church growth occurs due to VBS. Also, you can go the Facebook and find our event page as well as our church page detailing this event. You can register for VBS online at www.ebceffingham.org/vbs.
Speaking of the internet, Evergreen Baptist Church has increased its internet presence with free accounts on Facebook. We have event pages detailing our VBS and fall revival. We also have an Evergreen Baptist Church Group as well as a page. Many members who have Facebook accounts have already been to the sites. Hopefully, we will be able to reach the Effingham online users with our efforts. A simple search on Facebook for Evergreen Baptist Church will turn these up for you.
