Evergreen Baptist Church

God's Love is Ever Green.

April Newsletter

April was an exciting month for Evergreen Baptist Church. There were many things that happened and the Lord richly blessed us. We celebrated the Easter season.

The Easter season began with the annual Community Easter Service. This year, Hopewell Presbyterian church hosted the event. Five churches were involved in this year’s service. Churches that took part in the service were Hopewell, Effingham Presbyterian, Lebanon Freewill Baptist, the Revolution church, and Evergreen Baptist Church. Each pastor had a role in the service with Rev. Mac Atkinson preaching the message. Our own Tommy Jordan did a fabulous special for the service. After the service, we enjoyed a time of fellowship and food. The Easter morning continued at Evergreen as Tommy and Jay led the choir in a beautiful cantata. It was beautiful and powerful.

The youth did a fantastic service this past Sunday. The next youth night will be May 31 and the movie outreach night will be May 24. The Lord’s Supper will be during the morning service on May 31. Stay tuned to the EBC website as it will soon be getting a slight overhaul.

March Newsletter

March was a wonderful month for Evergreen Baptist Church as we have seen God move in our church. We are excited that the sound system has been upgraded and everyone was moved by the music Tommy presented this past Sunday. Even the heavenly hosts singing before the throne would be jealous how Tommy ministered to us with the special music before we partook of the Lord’s Supper. MORE

Word from our Pastor

Thank you for your faithful giving to missions. Your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering enable us to continue to spread the gospel here and abroad. This church is a thrill to my heart as I think of the work for the Lord we have a part in throughout the world. Last year, we were recognized for being in the top 20% of SBC churches in giving to the Lottie Moon offering. This year, our goal of $4000 is even more ambitious but I know we can reach it. I praise God for you every day. Why not spread the joy of missions giving with those who have not seen the vision as yet? They are missing the opportunity to serve the Lord in needy places. Your testimony might touch other hearts to give, to pray, and some perhaps even to go!
